Position Summary
Under the General Supervision of the Parts Manager, sells parts to the Service Technicians in the shop, wholesale parts customers and assists retail sales, as needed. Additional duties may be assigned based on the needs of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists all Service Technicians in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
- Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information, as needed.
- Assists wholesale account customers in selecting required parts or accessories in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
- Prepares invoices for parts to be delivered to wholesale customers.
- Adheres to established parts pricing strategies.
- Refers all parts discount request to parts manager.
- Provides high level of service to internal customers.
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
- Follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.
- Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
- Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
- Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.
- Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts.
- Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
- Keeps counter areas clean and uncluttered.
- Cleans computer terminals and printers daily.
- Participates in all training programs that are made available.
- Keeps current on new products and product updates.
- Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
- Maintain a cooperative manner with other employees
- Any other duties as assigned by management
- Employee must clock in at the beginning of each shift and clock out at the end of each shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisor responsibilities

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Prior Parts Counter experience required. A current valid NM Driver’s License and a clean driving record are required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and use a computer. The employee frequently is required to talk, hear and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a computer monitor.
